Air casters

Neoprene Air caster

Are you moving heavy objects such as machines, transformers, or ships? Air casters can be the perfect solution. This type of air caster is the most commonly chosen. Some features and advantages include:

  • Made from reinforced and flexible neoprene
  • Ideal for the toughest conditions
  • Resistant to high temperatures
Capacity

500 to 80.000 kg / 1,100 to 175,000 lbs

Maximum working pressure

5,4 barg / 78 psi

Dimensions

200 mm to 1.500 mm / 8 inch to 60 inch

Features

Neoprene is one of the strongest materials used for air casters. Key features:

  • Higher pressure. The strongest material in the industry allows for higher pressures in the air caster membrane.
  • Robust construction. Widely applicable due to its strong build, making it suitable for various industries.
  • Higher lift. Due to its design, it achieves a higher lift than a polyurethane air caster of the same diameter.
  • Various sizes available. Available in diameters up to 150 cm / 60 inches.

Advantages

  • Higher capacity. A combination of higher pressure and larger diameters allows for increased load capacity.
  • Highly versatile. Suitable for a wide range of weights, with an extensive selection of sizes and types.
  • Resistant to high temperatures. Can be used in warmer environments.

Comparison with other types of air casters

Neoprene air casters offer numerous advantages. However, in some cases, another type of air caster may be a better choice. In addition to neoprene air casters, we also produce:

Polyurethane Air Casters:

  • Known for their excellent abrasion resistance and wear-free performance. This makes them more suitable for transporting tools and for fixed substructures.

Gap Crossers:

  • Designed for movement over small gaps or cracks. When floor conditions are good, a standard air caster—such as neoprene or polyurethane—is usually the best solution.

Additional options

Neoprene air casters come with various options, always tailored to specific applications to enhance their lifespan.

  • Additional coatings and wear layers. Extend lifespan in challenging environments.
  • High-quality materials. caster plates can be made of stainless steel, ideal for environments where aggressive agents are present or for use in cleanrooms.

After 20 years of loyal service, it was time for a new modular air caster transport system with an increased capacity of 24 tons. Air casters do not damage the floor and we can position our machines very accurately and with little effort. With an Air caster system we can provide companies that regularly have machines in their factory. moving, recommend using Aerofilm Systems air casters!

Variation on the standard Neoprene Air Caster

High Lift

Neoprene air casters offer a high lift. In situations where an even higher lift is required, an actuator such as an air jack can provide a solution, though it also has its limitations. The Neoprene Air caster with our special ‘high lift’ design is sometimes the better option. This type is available in a limited number of sizes.

Aqua Caster

Air is the most common medium for floating air casters. However, for movements lasting days or even weeks, this can be a costly solution. That’s why we developed the Aqua Caster—a variant that uses water instead of air. Some advantages include:

  • Uses only 5% of the volume required by air.
  • Pumping water is more energy-efficient.
  • Lower investment costs. A pump is more affordable than a compressor.
