What is an Air plank?

An air plank is an air caster system designed to transport heavy loads effortlessly and friction-free. The system consists of two boards, each containing air casters.

Air planks are particularly effective in hard-to-reach areas where standard air caster solutions may be less suitable. Like a load module system, the air plank can be fully customized to meet your application’s specific needs.

How does an Air plank work?

Compressed air is supplied to the air casters, creating a thin layer of air between the floor and the load. This virtually eliminates friction, allowing even the heaviest loads to be moved smoothly and in a controlled manner. The load is evenly distributed over the air casters, ensuring stability and balance.

A key feature of air planks is that the load is lifted directly above the air caster, optimizing stability and efficiency during transport.

  • Board length. Available in various lengths, always tailored to your specific load requirements.
  • Air control. Available with flow control for easy operation or separate air control for added precision.

Additional Options (Optional)

  • Drives. Optional motorized movement for the air plank.
  • Additional lifting force. Pneumatic actuators to raise the load to a working height.
  • Height adjustments. Adjustable shelves for precise load positioning above the air casters.
