Air jacks system
Lifting bags, also called Air jacks, are Air casters that inflate like a balloon to create an outward force. The pressure in the bag does not require a continuous flow. Once inflated the Air jack bag can be used in various applications. The advantages of this Air jack bag compared to cylinders are enormous. Air jacks can be used in horizontal and vertical position to perfectly lift, push, spread and fix different objects.
The advantages of Air jacks are:
- Lift function. A Air jack is usually permanently installed in machines for which a lifting function is required. For example, with transporters who must pick up a machine, but the lifting of the Air caster itself is not enough. This type of bag is also suitable for integrating in transporters with wheels that have no lift. In our Aerofilm Roll Mover you will find our Air jacks under the legs of the transporter. These ensure that the roll can be picked up easily when activated.
- Actuator. Sometimes it is desired that a wheel can be pressed against the ground. This is easy to do by switching the Air jack on or off. This can be found, for example, in Aerofilm transporters that drive without load on wheels but with a load on Air casters. When the transporters ‘’empty transport’’ function is activated, the wheels are pressed against the floor with a lifting bag and then retracted again when the transporter is loaded.
- Lifting heavy objects. Air jacks are ideal for temporarily lifting heavy objects, for instance when a heavy machine or container needs to be lifted briefly to place an Air caster module underneath.
- Aerofilm Air jacks are made in-house from high-quality firehose material. Available in different widths and lengths, this bag is well suited for installation as an actuator in fixed installations. The combination of the length, width, stroke and pressure determines the force that the bag can generate.
- HD Air jacks are square Air jack available in various sizes up to a maximum of 36’’ x 36’’ and 73,000 pounds capacity. This type is especially useful for temporarily lifting or clamping large or heavy objects.
