Every day starts differently. Sometimes I continue where I left off the day before, sometimes a new challenge is already waiting. Since 2003, I’ve been responsible for producing B-cushions at Aerofilm—from small to large formats, from start to finish. I handle everything that comes with it.

A lot has changed over the years. Productivity has increased significantly, thanks to several factors. We now have better equipment, the materials we work with are easier to process, and the quality of our cushions has improved so much that we need to do less testing than we used to. Another big difference: I don’t have to do it all alone anymore. Where I used to be fully responsible for B-cushions, I now work closely with colleagues who support this part of the production.

Still, I sometimes miss being involved in everything. As the company has grown and new roles like engineering have been introduced, certain tasks now fall under others. That’s understandable, but I’m someone who likes to have the full picture. Maybe it’s time for the next step: setting up a proper production line for B-cushions.

People often see me as the B-cushion guy—but I can do more. I can assemble a lifting bellow without hesitation. And if my scooter breaks down on the way home, I’ll take it apart down to the last screw and put it back together again. I’m simply a technician at heart.

What keeps me motivated? Honestly, everything. I’m never sick, I’ve been with the production team the longest, and every day brings something new. I don’t need big events for appreciation. I enjoy the small things: a good conversation, working together with colleagues, or remembering that great team spirit we had back in 2011. Those are the moments that mean the most to me.
