Air planks
Air casters transport offers an economical solution for internal transport; the technology is extremely suitable for moving and positioning large or long machines, heavy transformers, bleachers or bleachers and other heavy objects. A thin film of air causes the weight to float, after which it can be moved easily and virtually without friction.
The advantages of Aerofilm Air planks:
- Did you know that you can also install a drive in your Air plank to control your Air plank remotely? This makes hard to reach elements more accessible and movement of heavy weights even safer and more ergonomically.
- Did you know that with our Gap Crossers you can also move over small cracks, gaps and joints? This is a frequently chosen type of air caster when moving theater stages or seating modules in sports halls, for example.
An advantage of Air casters is that very little free space is needed to move a machine. If an Air caster can be integrated under the machine, often only  10 mm free space is necessary. Even if there is a need to slide a complete module underneath the object to be moved, only one inch of space is needed in many cases.
If you want to use Air casters for multiple setups, but do not want to integrate the casters, it can be hard to reach the Air caster locations under the machine or seating stands. Aerofilm has developed an Air caster plank system for this purpose.
This system consists of at least two Air planks. Each plank has two integrated Air casters. By sliding the Air plank under the machine, the Air casters can also be positioned at places that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to access.
The Air planks are available in different sizes. The width is equal to the diameter of the caster and can then be supplied in any desired length. The principle of the Air plank can be used with any caster type. The length of the plank depends on the weight to be moved. If the standard width or thickness is not suitable for your transport issue, our engineers can always help you find a custom-made solution.
