There is an increasing taboo on fossil fuels. Yet, energy demand continues to increase. This requires green(er) alternatives. Installations are getting bigger and this requires a solid solution in production facilities. Regardless of which solution is chosen; wind turbines, nuclear power or any other form with turbines, generators or engines – air casters offer ideal solutions for moving large machines and equipment easily. Especially if there are routes with a low passage or if the corners are tight or difficult, air casters offer optimal freedom of movement with a low height. Air casters are the ideal tooling in production, maintenance or operation for moving and positioning large and heavy equipment.
Air caster benefits:
- Safety. For people, the environment and machine. Because everything is moved vibration-free, there is also no need to recalibrate the machine.
- Quickly operational. Internal transport can start within minutes. Once connected, the Air bearings are almost immediately operational.
- Reliability. Sufficient compressed air supply and a suitable floor are all you need. The Air casters do not require maintenance and prevent floor damage.
- Flexible. Air casters can cope well with variations in weight, shifts in the center of gravity and large objects.
- Budget-friendly. In addition to all the technical advantages, the technology requires a relatively low investment. The air required for the movement is often already present.
Air casters reduce the friction to a thousandth of the normal situation. This allows you to move 1.000 kg with 1 kg of force. In this floating state you can therefore easily move and position large weights such as turbines and windmill blades. Even in tight spaces, where you cannot get through, for example due to the turning circle of the wheels, Air casters provide a solution. The load pressure to the floor is much less than other options, distributing weight over the surface of the caster, eliminating point or line load, regardless of whether it is 1.000 kg or 5.000.000 kg, the floor pressure will be below 60 pounds per square inch.
