500 kg to 10.000 kg
Air casters are ideal for moving small to very large weights. Whether this is a trailer of 3.500 kg, a steel reel of 6.000 kg, or a machine part of 10.000 kg that must be positioned in the assembly process. Like a hovercraft, the Air caster technique floats the object to be moved, allowing it to be moved in any horizontal direction without friction. We find an answer for every internal logistic issue.
The right solution
There are many factors involved when considering the right movement solution. For example, how flexible do you want to be with the tooling? How often do you need to move it? What (weight) variation is there and what needs to be moved? You can also add additional features, making it even more user-friendly for the operator.
For weights up to approximately 10.000 kg it is not necessary to use a drive. Because there is almost no friction, you can move  1.000 kg with  1 kg of force. But make sure to have several people around as you do it, as they remain large weights.
With our modular Air caster system, you have a cheap and flexible solution for moving weights. You can easily store these after use, take them everywhere and use them in different applications. There are different systems, each of which can move a wide range of weight. A big advantage is that you only need one inch of free clearance to place the casters. If the height of the transport is critical, this is the lowest solution on the market.
Example
You choose a modular system with six Air casters of  400 mm diameter, which can be loaded up to 4 bar. Then you can move weights between 3.000 kg and 24.000 kg . The  400 mm Air caster has a maximum capacity of 4.000 kg at a working pressure of 4 bar. You can choose how many Air casters you use for each situation from a minimum of three. You can also adjust each caster separately to regulate a stable situation if the center of gravity is not in the middle or when the weight changes during the process.
Combine Air casters
If an identical movement occurs repetitively, you can choose to make the tooling even more user-friendly. This can be done by combining Air casters in a small platform. For example with an air pallet. We can also create customized solutions. Our expert engineers develop custom tooling based on Air casters, like additional lifts or air lift tables. The more personalized the solution becomes to your specific situation, the faster and more effectively you’ll be able to move.
Do you want the most ergonomic solution? Add a drive for moving, braking and controlling the object to be moved. This reduces the operator’s effort to the absolute minimum. Especially for this we have developed a range of built-in drives and external drives.
