By floating on a thin layer of air it’s possible to move heavy machines with a Gap crosser in an easy and safe way. An Air caster is also known as an Air Skate, Air Bearing Caster, Air Bearing or Air Cushion. This is are an ideal tool for internal movements. Therefore, this technology is used already for decades in multiple industries, to solve internal transport challenges.

The diameter combined with the pressure determines the capacity per Air caster. You always need a minimum of 3 Air casters to create a stable base. There is no limitation in number of Air Casters you can combine for moving the object.

To work with Air casters 2 main things are important. Sufficient compressed air must be available. In addition, the floor must be flat and airtight so that the cushion can settle against the floor before an air film is created. Sometimes there are small cracks or joints in the floor, so that the air film is not retained with a normal Air caster. This can make further movement very difficult. Because the Aerofilm gap crosser distributes the air discharge over several holes, small cracks, crevices and joints can easily be overcome.

This technology that is like Air hockey or a Hovercraft. Once floating on a thin layer of air all horizontal movements are possible.
