Gap crossers Air casters
For moves in unknown environments that may have floors with cracks and joints, Gap crossers are a great solution. When it comes to occasional heavy or unwieldy moves, ours work where other Air casters fail. Most Air casters require airtight floors to create the air film that powers their move, but Aerofilm Gap crossers divide the air over several holes. Cracks and joints are no match for Gap crossers.
Aerofilm Gap crosser benefits:
- Wide applications. Floors with cracks, joints or gaps are no problem — or if the transport environment is not yet known.
- Economical. Cheaper than paying for floor adjustments.
- Lower friction. Teflon coating reduces friction, which can be made even lower with polyurethane and neoprene casters.
- Freedom of movement. Air casters support horizontal movement in all directions, making incredibly accurate positioning possible
- Wide range of casters. Ranging from 250 kg (200 mm/ 1 bar) to 10.000 kg (900 mm/ 2 bar) per caster.
To work with Air casters 2 main things are important. Sufficient compressed air must be available. In addition, the floor must be flat and airtight so that the cushion can settle against the floor before an air film is created. Sometimes there are small cracks or joints in the floor, so that the air film is not retained with a normal Air caster. This can make further movement very difficult. Because the Aerofilm gap crosser distributes the air discharge over several holes, small cracks, crevices and joints can easily be overcome.
