What is learned young is done old.

By the time he was 14, Michiel was already joining the business on a regular basis. Especially when projects were being built. This was mighty interesting. Whenever he could come to the rescue, he was on hand. For example, a complex air cushion transporter had to be assembled for NKT. The space available to assemble a hydraulic cylinder was limited. Michiel was quite a bit smaller at the time and was able to maneuver here skillfully. So as to proudly complete his first job at Aerofilm. From this moment on, his passion for air cushions was only further fuelled and he could be found more and more often with the Aerofilm family.

Work as hobby

At home, Michiel could be found in the workshop with his own little projects: welding things together, tinkering with mopeds and cars, or working on the farm at home, at a neighbor’s house or at friends’ houses.

Because of his ever-increasing passion for air cushions, he helped more and more with the Aerofilm team. Because of his dexterity, he also went along more and more often to customers for installation and maintenance of air caster transporters. Because of the common ground between his studies and engineering at Aerofilm, Michiel also enjoyed doing his internships with his trusted family.

The Present

This plan has since been realized and Michiel moved to America in 2018 to set up Aerofilm Systems Inc. and we can offer our service and products in all corners of America. In this, we receive help from knowledgeable distributors who have also been part of the Aerofilm family since 2021.
