Neoprene air casters have higher capacity and can lift items higher than polyurethane casters. There are several ways to achieve extra lift.
If the air casters are part of a transporter, an extra lift can be realized by using a lifting bag. This lifting cushion is inflated and used as an actuator to create an extra lift in the system. The advantage of this solution is that both the air casters and the lifting bags can operate separately from each other, so the lift can also be maintained when the air caster is switched off.
If an additional lift is required (ie: more than a standard neoprene caster can handle) but there is no space available to build in a separate actuator, high-lift air casters are an excellent option. This is more advantageous because only one caster is needed, and no additional actuator needs to be purchased to create the extra lift. The further operation of the air caster is equal to that of the neoprene caster. A high-lift caster can also be combined with standard solutions such as a modular system, air planks or air pallets.
